For Harper’s Bazaar Greece, Águeda López wore Chelsea Jean Lamm Atelier’s "Victima" jumpsuit within an editorial exploring authenticity, personal transformation and the evolving definition of beauty beyond perfection.
The feature accompanied the release of Águeda López’s first novel, The Girl Who Always Looked at the Sun, reflecting on themes of vulnerability, female resilience, self-discovery and the courage to embrace personal evolution. Through her conversation with Harper’s Bazaar Greece, Águeda shared her belief that true beauty exists beyond appearance, rooted instead in energy, authenticity, confidence and the experiences that shape us.
These themes resonate deeply with the conceptual foundation of "Victima", a wearable sculpture exploring transformation, strength and the relationship between vulnerability and protection. Part of the "Echoes of Eden" (2023) body of work, "Coral Reef" transforms the luminous ecosystems of bioluminescent coral reefs into sculptural wearable art.
Inspired by one of the planet's most vulnerable environments, the artwork serves as a metaphor for the light humanity is gradually diminishing through hyper-consumption, fast fashion, environmental destruction and climate change.
Rather than illustrating ecological collapse directly, the work responds through beauty, craftsmanship and imagination, proposing Visual Optimism as a form of resistance.
Within Kornilova's dreamlike photographic language, the editorial expands these ideas beyond fashion into a reflection on consumption, impermanence and ecological responsibility. The garment encourages a slower relationship with making, valuing time, craftsmanship and material transformation over disposability.
By transforming artistic vision into sculptural couture, Coral Reef becomes both a celebration of nature's extraordinary beauty and a reminder of our collective responsibility to protect it.
The project was later recognised internationally at the Cult Awards 2025, presented during the Cyprus Fashion Film Festival, where “Null” received the award for Best Costume Design. Growing up with multiple nationalities, Chelsea Jean Lamm experienced borders as an everyday reality. Yet within her family, cultural differences were continuously transcended through shared memories, love and unity, revealing a deeper understanding of connection beyond geography.
Inspired by the symbolism of birds, wings and flight, "Eternal Soar" explores freedom as both a physical and emotional state. Inspired by organic ecosystems, artificial intelligence, mythical creatures and imagined evolutionary forms, the collection questions identity, transformation and what it means to be human in an increasingly interconnected world.
Through sculptural silhouettes, cyborg-inspired elements and futuristic narratives, Chelsea Jean Lamm creates a universe where the boundaries between human, animal and machine become fluid.
Each garment functions as a narrative object ~ part couture creation, part armour, part artefact from an imagined future civilisation.
The collection was developed through a multidisciplinary collaboration with visual artist Ashley Elizabeth Lamm and jewellery artist Carina Shoshtary. Ashley Elizabeth Lamm’s analogue paper collages form the conceptual and visual foundation of the garments, transforming discarded printed materials into intricate wearable artworks. AMALGAMARE marks the beginning of Chelsea Jean Lamm's artistic practice and the foundation of the interdisciplinary collaboration with visual artist Ashley Elizabeth Lamm that continues to define their work today.
Developed during Chelsea's final year at AMD Akademie Mode und Design Munich, the collection was conceived during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Shortly before global lockdowns were introduced, Chelsea's South African grandmother, Elizabeth Anne, became critically ill. Leaving Munich, Chelsea travelled to Johannesburg to say goodbye before returning to Germany to complete her graduation collection.
What began as an exploration of medieval bestiaries and speculative future beings gradually transformed into something deeply personal.
Working together, Chelsea and Ashley began experimenting with ways of translating Ashley's analogue paper collages into sculptural garments. Through months of experimentation, they developed techniques that combined traditional craftsmanship with contemporary technologies, including laser cutting, allowing intricate paper compositions to evolve into three-dimensional wearable sculptures.
As grief entered their lives following the passing of their grandmother, the collection shifted almost instinctively.
Unable to change reality, the sisters channelled the only thing they could still shape: their creativity.
Rather than allowing loss to define the work, they created a world that celebrated life itself.
The imagined inhabitants of AMALGAMARE became futuristic beings existing somewhere between human, animal and machine. Inspired by the mythical creatures of medieval manuscripts yet envisioned through the lens of emerging technologies, these figures embodied resilience, imagination and transformation. The garments function not simply as clothing, but as protective forms of wearable armour, allowing the wearer to inhabit an alternative future where vulnerability becomes strength and imagination becomes survival.
Many of the qualities that would later become synonymous with Chelsea Jean Lamm's practice first emerged within this collection: vibrant colour, sculptural silhouettes, analogue collage translated into couture, environmental symbolism and an unwavering belief in imagination as a transformative force.
In retrospect, AMALGAMARE became the first expression of what Chelsea now describes as Visual Optimism as Resistance: the conscious decision to respond to uncertainty not with despair, but by creating worlds filled with possibility.
The campaign was photographed in Clifton, Cape Town, a place that held profound significance for their grandmother, who spent much of her youth and adult life there.
Returning to this landscape became both a celebration of memory and a quiet act of gratitude.
The collection stands as a tribute to the woman who taught Chelsea and Ashley to observe the world with curiosity, humour and wonder.

Although still rooted in print, the project laid the conceptual foundations for everything that followed. It was here that Chelsea and Ashley first began investigating how analogue collage could move into three-dimensional space ~ a dialogue that would later evolve into their signature practice of translating intricate paper compositions into avant-garde couture through craftsmanship and emerging technologies.
Presented within one of Germany's leading institutions for contemporary art, the exhibition marked the beginning of an ongoing collaboration between two sisters working across distinct disciplines: Ashley through contemporary fine art and Chelsea through wearable sculpture.
Looking back, If Hippos Were Holy captures the first moment their artistic worlds intersected, establishing the collaborative methodology that continues to underpin their work across museums, fashion institutions and international publications.
